MXGP the Netherlands - changes create curiosity

Valkenswaard 2012

Several changes have been made leading up to this event. Changes that are positive for the perception of the public, the advertising possibilities for the sponsors and they are also a new challenge for the riders.

Creating new ideas is not so difficult, but performing and promoting new initiatives is a different story. Time constraints and a shortage of knowledge often make an organiser keep its usual facilities and original form. However, all the crew in Valkenswaard with the support of Jean-Paul Maas have been working really hard since November to give a totally different look to the MXGP of the Netherlands. The main goal is to increase the number of visitors thanks to the communication through the social media channels and the business relations.

"We're going back to the original location of the track in 2013 and the main difference with the past six years is that the track will be ridden the other way around. The finish line has been moved to the table top and the winner will be able to finish the race with an spectacular 'whip'. The VIP Lounge will be situated in the centre of all the action and the position of the Pitlane will be different. Consequently, the spectators will have a much better view from the campsite edge. The podium will have a completely different look, as Youthstream has created a double-floor structure called "Sky-Box”, which will be placed behind the start, and the podium will be located there.

The Valkenswaard organiser is closely working with Joint Forces Projects in order to improve the promotion of the event through different media channels. All the spectators will find many surprises this year, for example the possibility of winning a brand new Kawasaki KX250F or the GP-Party tent at the campsite of the Grand Prix with very well-known DJ’s who will be mixing music from the 90 's with today’s hits! In a few words: party atmosphere is guaranteed!
