Steve Ramon Signs with Buildbase Honda

Following a conclusive test session in Belgium recently, the Buildbase Honda team has now signed Steve Ramon for 2013. Fully recovered from his accident at Lommel (Belgium) in August 2011, the two-time World Champion and Seven-time Belgian National Champ will be looking to add to his long list of achievements in the UK, racing in the Maxxis ACU British Championship and the Red Bull Pro National series with other selected events as and when the 2013 race calendar is confirmed.

Dave Thorpe:  "I am very pleased to invite Steve into our team. It is great for the team and for Honda UK and will add even more spice to our national series. Honda`s new CRF450 is a fantastic bike which we want at the front of the pack and as one of the top racers in the World, Steve has a presence around the circuit which will draw crowds and show everyone what the bike can do. This is a great scoop and we are all really looking forward to the 2013 season”.

Steve Ramon: "Over the past few months I have made good progress in my rehabilitation and as I get stronger I realize I really miss racing. Dave Thorpe recently watched me riding and made me an offer the next day. For me it’s very exciting, a new bike manufacturer, new championships and a new challenge!  Now I will get back into a full training schedule and start to prepare for next season”.

Honda UK and Buildbase Honda have announced that Nico Aubin will be staying with the team for 2013 and he will be focussing next year solely on winning everything in sight in the MX1 class.

Nico Aubin:  "I feel very comfortable with the Buildbase Honda team here in the UK. We have found a routine on and off the track which suits us both and I am really looking forward to racing in the UK next year. There have been a lot of changes this year, not only between 250 and 450 bikes, but also in living arrangements and practicing and training which is never easy, but it is all sorted out now. The new CRF450 is a fantastic bike and I will be working and training hard with the team over the winter to make sure everything is 100% for the start of the 2013 season”.

Dave Thorpe:  "I think re-signing Nico` is great for us as a team, for Honda UK and for UK motocross as a whole. Nico`s riding style is just what the sport needs right now. He is a really nice guy and easy to chat to in the paddock and of course he is exciting and flamboyant on a bike and a pleasure to watch. Having worked with him for a season, I know he is capable of being at the front of the field and on the new Honda CRF450 I am sure this will be a winning combination”.
