STAPLES Center in downtown Los Angeles was host to Moto X Freestyle,
the first of eight moto events at X Games Los Angeles 2012. Monster
Energy’s Taka Higashino dominated the competition and took home a
coveted X Games Gold Medal by nailing a Rock Solid Backflip! Watch for
Higashino in Best Trick on Friday night. Fellow Monster Energy athletes
Nate Adams, Blake "Bilko” Williams, Adam Jones, and Andre Villa finished
fourth, fifth, and sixth, respectively. Monster Energy’s Andre Villa
sustained an injury after a crash in his first run and was unable to
compete in his second run as a result.

Friday night will play host to the Best Whip and Best Trick
competitions, with Monster Energy’s Josh Hansen, Jeremy "Twitch”
Stenberg, and Edgar Torronteras competing in Best Whip, and Kyle Loza,
Taka Higashino, Mark Monea, and Blake "Bilko” Williams competing in Best
Trick.
