Antonio Cairoli and Jeffrey Herlings win in France.

MX1
It was a start-to-finish win for Antonio Cairoli (Red Bull KTM) as looked to put the Brazilian GP behind him. The French crowd were treated to a good home showing from two of their brightest stars, as Gautier Paulin (Kawasaki Racing Team) and Christophe Pourcel (CP377 Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki) traded positions and a lot more with five laps to go, Paulin winning out to finish second. Christophe Pourcel was third ahead of another Frenchman Xavier Boog (Kawasaki Racing Team). The Rockstar Energy Suzuki World MX1 machine of Clement Desalle was fifth.

Race 2 saw Steven Frossard (Monster Energy Yamaha) pass Antonio Cairoli on lap six after a rare Cairoli mistake, but the Italian re-took the lead four laps later. David Philippaerts (Monster Energy Yamaha) also found a way through on Frossard to briefly take second before fading to fifth by the end of the race.

Christophe Pourcel followed Gautier Paulin through from sixth and fifth respectively on lap on and it looked like Paulin would finish second behind Cairoli until he made a mistake on lap sixteen that saw him drop to fifth. Pourcel then found himself challenging for second, which is where he eventually finished, Paulin made it back to third. The overall Grand Prix belonged to Antonio Cairoli with Christophe Pourcel and Gautier Paulin second and third.

MX2
The first MX2 race was a straight-forward affair as Jeffrey Herlings (Red Bull KTM) wasted no time in getting to the front, where he remained for the duration of the twenty-two lap race. His closest rival Tommy Searle (Floride Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki) was buried in the mid-pack from the start but fought hard to reach third behind Herling’s team-mate, Jeremy Van Horebeek.

Joel Roelants rode a solid race to take fourth while top French rider was Valentin Teillet (Bud Racing Rockstar Kawasaki); after starting in sixth he climbed to third for five laps before going on to finish fifth.

The second MX2 race was more eventful, as Jordi Tixier (Red Bull KTM) took the hole shot, but was soon passed by Arnaud Tonus (Monster Energy Yamaha) and Searle. After three laps Searle took the lead and would go on to win the race. Jeffrey Herlings didn’t make such a good start in sixth and after spending three frustrating laps behind Tonus, made an aggressive pass that left the Yamaha rider on the ground. Jeremy Van Horebeek was third with Roelants once again fourth.

Herlings won the Grand Prix from Tommy Searle and Jeremy Van Horebeek.
