Ben Townley to Two Two Motorsports

The 'goss' in the pits in the morning was that a deal had been done with the Australian Carlton Dry Thor Honda Team and BT101 would miss the Australian Monster Energy Australian Motocross Championship and was off to the AMA Outdoors replacing the injured team owner Chad Reed.

Mid morning Commentator Neil Ritchie confirmed the exciting news and continued to applaud it throughout the day.

At the MX1 podium, before Ben Townley was crowned the 2012 NZ Senior MX1 Motocross Champion, BT101 himself confirmed it over the public address system.  He did say that there is still some detail to sort before it is officially announced.

Townley put on a stunning display at Taupo's Round 4.  MX1 were last to go out for the 30 minute Practice / Qualifying session and the track was already roughing up and big holes appearing in the sawdust section. BT101 went 2:865 seconds faster than anyone else.

He won all three Motos by margins of 43, 13 and 27 seconds.

He won the Championship with 297 out of a possible 300 points from Josh Coppins who was 40 points behind him.

Two Two Motorsports were looking for the best and they have signed him.

More news as it comes to hand.
