Honda World riders enjoy strong weekend at National Events

Honda World Championship riders Evgeny Bobryshev, Ken De Dycker and Rui Gonçalves finished both Dutch Championship races in Halle, Holland in the top three to take an all Honda-podium this weekend, with Jonathan Barragan also having a good outing in the Spanish Championships where he took the overall win.

In the Halle race it was Honda World Motocross’s Evgeny Bobryshev (pictured above) who shone with a dominating performance to finish on pole in qualifying and win both MX1 motos to take the overall win aboard his factory CRF 450R. However, fellow Honda pilots Ken De Dycker, racing for the LS Honda Racing team, and Bobryshev’s teammate Rui Gonçalves also enjoyed good outings taking two seconds and two thirds each to conclude the day with an all-Honda podium for round two of the series. Bobryshev, De Dycker and Gonçalves are now top three in the championship with five rounds to go.

Elsewhere, across in Spain LS Honda Racing’s Jonathan Barragan also concluded the day aboard his CRF 450R with good results at the Osuna track near Madrid. The 26-year-old racer put on a strong performance to go 2-1 to take his first Honda overall win.

Roger Harvey - Honda Motor Europe Off-Road Manager:  "It’s been a good weekend for all the MX1 teams, and it’s looking very promising as we gear up to the first Grand Prix. Obviously our focus is mainly on the World Championship, but the national series’ are a good way to test the bikes and get the riders in race mode. We’re very happy with their progression and to have an all-Honda podium in Holland, as well as Jonathan’s first Honda win in Spain is really good for us in our preparations for Valkenswaard in April.”
