Taupo to host NZ Supercross Champs Final 14 January

International Stars Josh Coppins and Cody Cooper will head the strongest field ever of New Zealand riders as they compete for their respective New Zealand championship honour at Taupo.

Saturday 14 January and Supercross hits Taupo where riders will compete not only for a NZ title but also up for grabs is the North Island Championship. The Taupo event follows closely behind Rounds 1 in Timaru on 04 January and Round 2 at Nelson 08 January.

The Addiction Supercross track is a near new facility located on the Digger McEwen Track.  It is only 120m long by 70m wide filled with big jumps, whoop sections and giant table tops. Bar banging, high flying action is guaranteed, all visible from 360 degrees embankment with food, beverages and kids entertainment at the spectator’s finger tips.

Top local riders to look out for are Brad Groombridge, Nick Saunders competing in the Supercross Open Class and Cam Dillon in the Supercross Lites Class. The local riders have been practicing hard at the Addiction SX track and are looking forward to the final at Taupo.

The Championship classes comprises of four classes being divided by capacity ratings. Supercross Open and Lites and two Junior classes being Junior 250 and Junior lites.

Spectator gates open at 11:00 am with action set to start at 12 noon with practices, qualifying and North Island Championships. This will be followed by half time entertainment with the NZ finals beginning at 4 pm to 7 pm. Tickets are gate sales only with prices for adults $20, children $5, five years or under free and family pass $40 two adults three children.
