Summercross up to 525 entries

Australian Tye Simmonds, who has returned from an indoors/outdoors season in the USA with JDR will be there along with Yamaha's Josh Coppins, Honda's Ben Townley and Suzuki's Cody Cooper.  In no particular order there is also Mason Phillips, Mike Phillips, Hayden Clark, Brad Groombridge and Nick Saunders who are quite capable of making the podium.  Don't discount Mitch Rees either - he lives there!. As at noon on Friday there was only two MX1 places available.

MX2 is also full and has an interesting recent entry in Aussie Supercross exponent Geran Stapleton.  He was 2nd in their recent Championship to Errol Willis and actually beat Willis in the final round.

Tony Rees - Race Director: "We need to remind everyone that the Seniors are racing on the first day, the 27th and that Juniors/Women/Mini are on the second day, the 28th."

"This year we are aiming to put on more of a quality event with the premier racing, a breather between races and a chance for spectators to visit the pits without missing any racing.  MX1 and MX2 riders will actually have 5 races, not 3.  Race 1 will consist of a 10 minute race with 5 min break then a second 10 mins race.  Race 2 will be the same.  Race 3 consists of 1 x 15 mins +2 Lap Final, so that will be a 20 minute race."

"There has been a major upgrade of the track but work has stopped whilst this wet weather hangs around."

"MX2 & Youth MX classes both closed at 57 entries each. Those two classes will have qualifying, with the top 38 qualifying and the non-qualifiers going into a support class called MX3 - 19 non qualifiers from each, makes up a MX3 gate of 38"

As this goes live the entries on the BOPMCC site are not up to date but they are Nicole Bol's:  www.mxt.co.nz/  click on the header Confirmed Entries and drill down to whichever PDF you require.

Interesting that Nicole says there was approximately 425 online entries and only 100 postal.

I note also, that Vets closed with 34 in the +35 years and 16 in the +45 years - maximum 50 riders in a split start.
