Jay Marmont quits CDR Rockstar Yamaha

The CDR Rockstar Yamaha team would like to extend their thanks and best wishes to Jay Marmont who is leaving the team after five national championships and four successful years with the factory Yamaha team.

The CDR Rockstar Yamaha / Jay Marmont association began in 2008 and has netted both parties four consecutive MX National championships as well as the 2011 Super X championship which wrapped up recently in Queensland.

Team owner, Craig Dack, looks back at their partnership with pride that included more than just championship success with the team having a 100% finish record with the ultra reliable YZ450F. Dack also has no hard feelings towards Marmont as the factory Yamaha team will now restructure with a new rider line up for 2012.

"On behalf of the team, I would like to thank Jay and his family for a tremendous four years in which we both enjoyed plenty of success. The partnership worked well but unfortunately has ran its course and as a team we wish Jay all the best with his future endeavours and look forward to competing against him in 2012,” Dack offers.

Standby for more information to be released soon on the CDR Rockstar Yamaha team for 2012 as the team enters an exciting new period as CDR celebrates its 20th year in motocross racing and continues to be Australia’s longest running and most successful race team.

"Bringing a new rider on board is always an exciting time for everyone involved and again CDR will commit its time, energy and resources into building and developing another champion. We have the best crew and infrastructure in the pits and the revolutionary YZ450F at our disposal.”

"We will announce our full rider and team line up shortly but our team is again committed to ongoing success and will strive to maintain championship winning results in the future,” Dack concludes.

Comment: Although their has been no 'official' announcment, sources in Australia are saying that Jay Marmont has signed with the Monster Energy Kawasaki team - he has been sighted in Queensland testing with MEK this week. He will have team-mates Billy Mackenzie in the Pro Open class and Kade Mosig in the Pro Lites.

This shuffle comes on the back of the announcement that Ben Townley had signed for the Carlton Dry Honda race team in Australia throughout 2012.

Josh Coppins will be back from his shoulder injury with CDR Rockstar Yamaha and remember that going into Round 9 at Coolum, where the injury occurred, Josh had an 18 point Championship lead.  Alan H.
