Kayne Lamont heading for England.

I am already in Whakatane for Summercross and tried to reach Kayne's mum Di but they are on the journey from Mangakino to Whakatane. I ended up talking to his Nana who confirmed he is leaving in February.

Rob Hooper has had a year away from top-level motocross, the association of Rob Hooper and Suzuki will, in 2011, achieve. Title sponsorship is from Maxxis Tyres, the team will contest the MX2 in the Maxxis British Championship, Red Bull Pro Nationals and the British Masters series.

That brings the number of Kiwis in that series to four.  Rex Michau from Team DBG is running John Phillips in MX2 and Kieran Scheele and Bjarne Frederickson in MX1.

Here is a quote from Geoff Meyer's www.mxlarge.com :

Team principal, Rob Hooper, commented, "I’m delighted to announce our return to top-level motocross and especially pleased to come back with such a strong line-up. Steven returns from a four-year stint in the USA, where he impressed with some great results, before contesting the Australian SX series, taking a fantastic win in Brisbane at the last round. Whereas Kayne joins us fresh from his first season in Europe, impressing in the UK particularly with his speed and talent. One key point for both of these riders is their existing experience on the RM-Z250, which should allow us to hit the ground running.

The team will enjoy support from Maxxis Tyres, Apico International, SC Sporthomes, MX Zone Engineering, Sky Shades, Akrapovic, Doodson Broking Group, Langcourt Replating, Rip’n’Roll, The Heritage Company, Donjoy, Graf-fix, CI Sport, Racebikebitz, Pro-Carbon and Raptor Titanium."

I will catch-up with Kayne at Whakatane.  I note that Rex Michau has entered the Vet's Class.                                     Kayne Lamont photos courtesy of Guy Maxwell via Facebook.
