Yamaha Racing Division
Manager, Keith McCarty. "We are very excited to have all of our teams returning to fight for the
2011 Racing series and look forward to coming out of the gate at the
opener with a strong start to the season. They did a great job representing the Yamaha
brand last year and with contingency and parts available in the pits I’m
looking forward to an even better finish in 2011 for all our Yamaha
racers."
The season opener gets underway at Angel Stadium in Anaheim on Saturday 08 January.
L & M Racing: Headlining the assault is James
Stewart. Signed to a two-year contract with L & M Racing, James is
looking forward to winning his second title for Yamaha on his YZ450F.
He’s currently in lock down in Florida putting the finishing touches on
his race prep and testing so he can come out with both barrels blazing
at Anaheim 1.
Joining Stewart on Team L & M is Texas phenom Kyle Regal. Always a
threat to podium outdoors, Regal has spent the last few months honing
his Supercross skills turning lap after lap around the Yamaha Supercross
test track.
Star Racing: For 2011 Star Racing owner Bobby Regan has placed team management reigns
in the very capable hands of Allan Brown. Brown has assembled a new
roster of riders to take the YZ250F to the front of the Lites
Championship. After racing for the team at last year’s Nationals,
Gareth Swanepoel is returning from the 2010 season. New members joining
Gareth are Ryan Sipes, Kyle Cunningham and rookie sensation Gannon
Audette.
Joe Gibbs Racing: JGR is back for 2011 with a two man threat of Justin
Brayton and Davi Millsaps. Fresh from a off-season that saw him win
international races in both Australia and Switzerland, Brayton is
looking forward to bringing his podium streak to Anaheim 1. After a
rough end to the 2010 season Millsaps has spent the off-season healing
up and getting ready for a 450 challenge in 2011.
Valli Motorsports: Owner Chad Lanza is excited about the 2011 season with
veteran Nick Wey mentoring 450 Class rookie Austin Stroupe. Both riders
being new to the team and they are excited about the possibilities the
2011 season holds.
MotoConcepts: The team ended the 2010 Season on a high with Kyle Chisholm
taking home the "Privateer of the Year" honors. Things haven’t cooled
off for Chisholm as he took home a well deserved second place at the
prestigious Bercy Supercross during the off-season. Another big
off-season development for the team was the hiring of David Vuillemin, a
highly successful racer in his own right, as team manager. With his
wealth of knowledge David will help guide riders Kyle Chisholm, new
comer Tommy Hahn and Vince Friese to reach their ultimate goals in 2011.
Rock
River Motorsports: In addition to fielding an impressive team with Weston Peick, Jared
Brown, Drew Yenerich, Joey Rossi, Alex Millican and Jeff Alessi, Rock
River Motorsports will once again be on hand at every Supercross
supporting Yamaha racers with a wide assortment of OEM parts to ensure
that their YZs are running up to their utmost potential.
