Three new red plate holders at Lyng

Brad Anderson (Par Honda) Zach Osborne (Bike It Cosworth Wild Wolf Yamaha) and Jordan Divall (Evo Tech Honda) all emerged from the deep sand at Lyng yesterday holding the red plates in their respective classes after round three of the championship.

In the MX1 class, Anderson went 1-3-1 to put in his strongest ride of the year to take the top step on the podium with Stephen Sword (Buildbase CCM) taking second with a 2-1-3, but it was Samsung Yamaha's Kristian Whatley who once again nearly upset the established stars backing up his opening moto fourth with two strong second places to back up his opening 4th place. It was a bad day for Jason Dougan on the larger version of the Bike It Dixon Yamaha who who only scored a 6th and fifth after an opening moto DNF. Going into the next round in two weeks time Anderson now leads Whatley by twelve points with the CCM pairing of Tom Church and Sword within striking distance.  (Ben Townley: A 7th in Moto 1 after a bad start. In Moto 2 he was challenging Stephen Sword for the lead when a header pipe broke and he had to come into the pits.)

Osborne took over the lead in the MX2 class with two wins and a second after his main title rival and team mate, Arnoud Tonus suffered a mechanical failure in the opening moto. The Swiss rider was forced to follow his American team mate home in the second moto before turning the tables in the final encounter. Elliot Banks Browne (DB Racing Honda) scored strongly with 2-4-5 finishes to stand on the second step of the podium with a delighted Ray Rowson (Samsung Yamaha) returning the the podium in third after strong starts landed him third place overall with 4--5-4 finishes. Osborne now leads the championship by just three points from Tonus.

The event also featured the second round of the MXY2 Youth championship and Divall repeated his first round 3rd and 4th place finishes to head the five round championship by seven points from Ryan Houghton (HM PLant Red Bull KTM) who won the opening moto, but failed to finish the second. At the end of two hard fought races James Dunn (JCS Apex Doodson KTM) and Adam Sterry (RMJ Academy Honda) completed the podium.

All three classes now head towards Milton Park near Northampton in two weeks time on May 1st to continue the battle.
