Honda HM Zanardo ready for 2011 Enduro World Championship

The Honda HM Zanardo team prepares to make the journey to Spain for the first round of the 2011 Enduro World Championship, which takes place on the 2-3 April.

Determined and ready to start the season in fine style, Honda HM Zanardo riders are keen to make their mark on the world stage. Hopes, motivations, and the knowledge that all eyes will be on them, they will push to the limit in all competitions.

Among the riders of the team directed by Franco Mayr and AlessandroTramelli, reigning E2 World Champion, Mika Ahola, carries the most expectation.

Ahola, after having won two World Championships in E1 class (2008, 2009) and other two in E2 class (2007, 2010), this year has decided to move into the E3 class as he attempts to be the first rider in history to win a title in all the three classes.

Ahola is at the pinnacle of his very successful career, having won four consecutive championships with the team from 2007-2010. He will no doubt be looking to improve on this tally in 2011.

Mika Ahola, Honda HM Zanardo:  "The beginning of the season has not been as I hoped. In Sardinia I raced with different set-up and so I have worked hard to race. On Sunday we have changed the set-up and I have finished second near Aubert. In Viverone I my performance was compromised by the terrible conditions and by the mud. I consider myself a mud rider but this was terrible conditions. However I’m very confident for this new World Championship because we are working so hard with my new Honda-HM CREF500R and still now we are working for make it more competitive”.

Franco Mayr, Team Manager, Honda HM Zanardo: "We have all the right elements to aim to be the main protagonists of the World Championship. We will certainly do our best to achieve the goals we have set out. I would like to say thank you to our main sponsor Zanardo and to all the other companies that are supporting us in our challenge this new season”.
