Round Two Taupo:

Taupo hosted the second round of the NZ SX Championships, with the first round held back in mid December (Tokoroa) I sat in 6th place in the Championship at the days beginning and wanted to move further up the points table - if I could. Taupo being my home town track I wanted to do well in front of all my friends and family and I did just that. Nailing three good starts I went 2nd, 3rd, 3rd in the days races to finish up 2nd for the day and move from 6th in the points standings all the way up to 2nd.

Round Three Nelson:

The third round of the Championship was held down south in Nelson, I really enjoy this track and wanted to continue where I left off at Taupo. Unfortunately things didn't really work out to plan, I came up really short on the big quad jump the day before and injured my shoulder in the process. It was a hard day at the office throughout the day as every time I landed off a big jump my hand nearly came off the handle bar as I had no strength in it. I managed to get through the day gaining some valuable points that would help me at the final round In Timaru.

Final Round Timaru:

With a week to heal, my shoulder was feeling a little better, so I was a little more confident heading in the final day of the Championship. I had slipped back to third in the points table, trailing Honda's Peter Broxholme by one point. I was determined to get this spot back and was going to throw everything I had on the table. Throughout the night my KX250F got me awesome starts, I rode smart but still with intensity and was able to beat Broxholme in every moto. This was more then enough to get me my spot back and give me 2nd spot in the Championship.

So pumped to come away with second spot in the Championship, it was a huge effort to everyone involved. I really feel we have momentum now and hope we can keep the ball rolling. We now shift focus back to Motocross where the next big event will be held in nine days time at the New Zealand Grand Prix in Woodville.
