Date change for New Zealand Motocross Nationals.No other adjustments have been made to the 2011 calendar.
Want to know why ? 24 November, Motorcycling Australia announced today: "Williams Event Management (WEM) would like to advise there have been changes made to the 2011 Rockstar Energy Drink MX Nationals Calendar. Round 2, originally scheduled for 20 March at Raymond Terrace, has been moved to 10 April and will now become the Round 3 of the Championship. As a result the event at Appin in New South Wales will become Round 2wo of the Series, moving to 03 April." Interesting, in that Australia's Round 2 at Raymond Terrace already clashed with NZ's Round 3 at Rotorua. Worse still, was Australia's Round 1 at Broadford on 06 March clashed with NZ's Round 2 at Patetonga. MNZ had gone to all the the drama to move the four round National Championship to a Summer event (meaning no 2010) to avoid clashing with the Australasian Supercross and align NZ with the Australian MX Nationals ... and now we had a clash of two dates. Why ? because nobody had talked to WEM Promoter Kevin Williams and whilst here in NZ for the Australasian SuperX, he was quoted as saying that he was unaware of any NZ proposed dates !! Kevin Williams generously agreed to move one of his Australian events and it was up to MNZ to move one of their's. 2011 Australian / New Zealand MX Nationals calendar:
