Well where to start, the 2012 Junior Nationals were my last and final main Junior event.
Turning 17 this coming October
puts me over the age limit to race Juniors anymore. I’m racing against the big boys now and
I feel more than ready to take up the challenge and become a main contender in
the senior field.
This years Junior Nationals was held at one of my favourite
tracks, the Backflips MX track at Pleasant Point, not far from Timaru. All
weekend the track was unreal and made for some awesome racing. I have raced
this track many times and I had never seen it so perfect. Big 'ups' to the South Canterbury Motocross Club for running an
outstanding event.
Practice/Qualifying (Friday)
Went really good, I was feeling the track, bike was running and felt
sick. I was fastest Qualifier by over 2 seconds puting down a 1.58. Me and my
dad got my starts down packed in Practice so I was feeling a holeshot coming
on in this first moto
Overall Racing.
I had 6 motos
and all were championship races. My goal for the weekend was to win all six
motos giving me a clean sweep. I had my coach Antony Sproull from PMX
coaching, my dad on my bike and the CMR Red Bull KTM Race Team there supporting
me. With everyone supporting me, I was determined to get a clean sweep.
Racing for the
weekend went awesome. I got 3 holeshots out of 6 starts. I was super pumped on
my clean sweep, winning all 6 races by over 15 seconds every moto. So overall I
couldn’t of asked for a better weekend.
Thanks Antony
